The 2010 Gold Coast Art Fair has a new location in Chicago’s famous Grant Park and will be held on August 20, 21 & 22!




Lincolnshire

A busy midsummer event June 12-13, 2010 Lincolnshire, Illinois Sat & Sun 10-5 Expected Visitors 20,000+ 150 Artists The Lincolnshire Art Festival is situated around a tranquil fountain in an upscale community 30 minutes north of Chicago with plenty of restaurants and hotels in the area. Booths are on grass and pavement. Visitors are from the north and western suburbs. Artists parking is free, and close to the grounds. The festival features all types of fine art and fine crafts. The 13th Annual Lincolnshire Art Festival features approximately 150 juried artists set up along the grounds of Lincolnshire’s Village Green dining and shopping area.

The free festival surrounds a serene fountain and at the festival center is a beautiful sculpture garden, bordered by pleasant walking paths and benches.

Visitors may enjoy a variety of fare ranging from fresh fruit smoothies, ice cream, Middle Eastern food and in addition to Flatlander’s onsite restaurant they will also have a special booth in the festival serving food.

Throughout the weekend, live music from acoustic rock duo Cirrus Falcon will entertain the crowd.

Free public parking is available at the corner of Olde Half Day Road and Route 21 (Milwaukee Avenue) in the lots located adjacent to the festival. Overflow parking is also located at a lot off of Half Day Road (Route 22) within two miles of the festival; posted signage along the festival perimeter will indicate driving directions to this lot. A free shuttle will operate continuously between this lot and the festival.


Barington Kick off the summer season Barrington Art Festival May 29-30 2010 Sat & Sun 10-5 Expected Visitors 20,000+ 140 Artists Barrington Art Festival Barrington, known for its wealth, mansions and horse farms is the setting for our newest festival which is situated 36 miles northwest of Chicago. Barrington has a population of about 40,000 and an average household income of $125,00, with 1/4 of the population earning $200,000+. This festival kicks off the Chicago Art Festival Season. 1st year at this location. FREE and open to the public, the Barrington Art Festival will offer the work of 140 juried artists from around the world in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, photography, watercolors, wood and more.

Live music from several bands and musicians who perform throughout the weekend.

Epicurean delights, including indulgences from local restaurants, will also be available at the festival. Activities for kids, including an interactive art wall where children can help create a mural, make the Barrington Art Festival the perfect family experience.

Highwood Great Art at Great Prices Highwood Last Call Art Fair September 25-26, 2010 Highwood, Illinois Sat & Sun 10-5 Expected Visitors 15,000+ NEW DATE 130 Artists The Highwood Last Call Art Fair features great art at great prices. The show gives the public the chance to buy end of the season original art, left over inventory, slightly damaged, bruised, and odd pieces at discounted prices. Artists decide how much to discount their work and can use festival stickers to mark work at 10% to 50% off. Highwood is known throughout the North Shore for its excellent dining. The fair is located along the main downtown street near all the great restaurants. Buffo’s will be cooking outside their establishment, right in the festival area, and will feature “Beers from Around the World”.

From the NORTH: I-294 to Route 22 East. Go east, about 10 minutes, GO PAST Route 41 (a four lane highway). Soon, you will be driving through a town called Highwood.. Continue to the dead end which is Green Bay Road. Turn left (south) and go about four minutes to Highwood Avenue. Turn right, cross the tracks, and you are at the festival

From the EAST: Coming from Eastern states, head towards Chicago, then proceed with directions from the South (see below).

From the WEST: I-290 East to I-294. Go direction Milwaukee (north on a map) but marked West on signs. Exit at Half Day Road, Rt. 22 east. Drive 10 - 15 minutes. Continue to the dead end which is Green Bay Road. Turn left (south) and go about four minutes to Highwood Avenue. Turn right, cross the tracks, and you are at the festival.

From the North Interstate 294—Take I-294 southbound to Route 22 (Half Day Road) eastbound. Travel east on Route 22, past Route 41 (Skokie Boulevard), and into the town of Highwood. At the dead end intersection of Green Bay Road, turn south and proceed to Central Avenue. Turn east on Central and travel two blocks. The festival will be located on the right-hand side of the road, between First Street and Second Street. Route 41—Take Route 41 (Skokie Boulevard) south to the Central Avenue East exit. Travel eastbound to downtown Highland Park. After passing Green Bay Road, proceed two blocks to the festival, which is located on the right-hand side of the road, between First Street and Second Street.

From the South Interstate 294—Take I-294 northbound to the Deerfield Road East exit. Eastbound Deerfield Road will eventually become Central Avenue. Once in downtown Highland Park, the festival will be located along Central Avenue on the right-hand side of the road, between First Street and Second Street. Interstate 90/94—Take I-90/I-94 westbound. At the juncture where I-94 continues west toward Milwaukee, follow Route 41 north toward Waukegan. Exit Route 41 at Central Avenue East. Continue on Central Avenue into downtown Highland Park. The festival is located on the right-hand side of the road, between First Street and Second Street.

From the West Take I-290 east to I-294. Follow I-294 westbound toward Milwaukee. Exit I-294 at Deerfield Road East. Eastbound Deerfield Road will eventually become Central Avenue. Metra Train Take Metra from any stop along the Chicago-Kenosha line to downtown Highland Park. The station is literally steps away from the festival!


Glencoe Featuring the best of the best Gelncoe Festival of the Masters July 10-11, 2010 Glencoe, Illinois Sat & Sun 10-5 Expected Visitors 20,000+ 150 Artists The Glencoe Festival of the Masters takes place in the prestigious Frank Lloyd Wright influenced community of Glencoe near Lake Michigan in Chicago's famous North Shore area. Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival July 17-18, 2010 Buffalo Grove, Illinois Sat & Sun 10-5 Expected attendance 30,000 people. 160 Artists The Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival is northwest of Chicago and is home to some of the most successful and reputable business organizations in the Midwest. Buffalo Grove boasts a population of 44,000 people. Plenty of close parking and great sales. A huge community volunteer corps provides booth-sitting and artists assistance with a smile. Buffalo Grove is one of the most diverse and fastest-growing communities in the Chicagoland area, and The Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival draws artists from a wide range of locations, including the United States, Canada and Israel. This year’s festival features a wonderfully chosen, juried group of approximately 150 artists: all thrilled to showcase their art to nearly 32,000 fest visitors.

Arlington Heights

Great Downtown Suburban Show Promenade of the Art Arlington Heights June 26 & 27, 2010 Arlington Heights, Illinois Sat & Sun 10-5 Expected Visitors 20,000+ 150 Artists Arlington Heights is in an affluent community of 77,000 people. The Promenade of the Art Arlington Heights is held on the downtown streets amid new and upscale buildings, the Metropolis Arts Centre, quaint stores and popular restaurants. An artist reports that she had a $150,000 commission come out of this show. This show is easy, safe and fun. Launched in 2003, the annual Promenade of Art has quickly become a popular fine art and fine craft festival. Along quaint streets that showcase a collection of upscale residential buildings, boutiques, and a variety of eateries, 150 juried artists display their work for over 25,000 attendees. The festival is the perfect place to search for unique paintings, sculpture, fine jewelry, and even an eye catching silk scarf to spruce up the wardrobe.

Wheaton Cantigny

Beautiful Art in a natural setting Cantigny Art Festival June 19-20, 2010 Wheaton, Illinois Sat & Sun 10-5 Expected Visitors 20,000+ 130 Artists The Cantigny Art Festival is held Fathers Day Weekend at Cantigny

Park, one of the most beautiful settings in the greater chicago area. The festival offers extra spacious booths and is a lovely safe, friendly location. Booths are on grass and pavement under a light canopy of honey locust trees. The striking Visitor's center provides comfort and convenience enjoy Father's Day weekend at Cantigny Park with The Cantigny Fine Art Festival. Established in 2002, the festival showcases juried artists from all across the United States. The artists are thrilled to display sculpture, fine art, and fine craft at the former estate of Colonel Robert R. McCormick on the park’s spacious front lawn, under a canopy of honey locust trees. Cantigny Park is, in and of itself, a horticultural masterpiece.

Visitors can enjoy fare ranging from fresh-squeezed lemonade, sweets, snacks and a variety of food. Cantigny Park’s newly renovated restaurant will also be serving during the weekend.

PARKING: Plenty of onsite parking is available to the public. Although festival admission is free, Cantigny Park will assess a small fee of $5 per vehicle for guests utilizing these parking facilities.


Downers Grove

Downtown Downers Grove Art Festival Sept 11-12 2010 September 11 - 12, 2010 Expected Visitors 20,000+ Downers Grove, Illinois Sat & Sun 10 am - 5 pm 130 Artists The Downtown Downers Grove Art Festival is help on the lovely main street of this suburban community. Downers Grove has a population of 50,000, a median age of 39, a downtown filled with restaurants, stores, coffee houses, luxury apartments, and a state of the art parking facility for about 800 cars. An annual cherished community tradition for the past 33 years, the festival has changed directional control this year (a better organization). Historically a one day show, the festival will now span a full weekend with optional set up for artists on Friday night.


Glenview

Sunshine ranked #14 Festival Art at the Glen The Glen Aug 7-8 2010 August 7-8, 2010 Glenview, Illinois Sat 10-6, Sun 10-5 Expected Visitors 40,000+ 195 Artists The Art At The Glen is held in Glenview, Illinois north of Chicago in a beautiful dynamic area designed for strolling, browsing, shopping and dining. Festival streets are filled from open until close with thousands of art buyers. Festival sales rank among the top of the season for many artists at this high quality show. In 2004, Art at the Glen Town Center soared above all expectations for a first-year show. From opening until show’s end, the streets at this free festival were flooded each day by an enormous crowd bustling to get their hands on the work of the 175 juried artists participating. Located on the former site of the Glenview Naval Air Station and its historic Hangar One, the Glen Town Center is home to some of the finest stores in the Midwest and is an enduring reminder of the community’s role in aviation history. Brought to you by community developer Oliver McMillan, even more artists and more festive food will combine to set new levels of quality for all. This year’s show looks to be another highflyer!

Skokie North Shore

This festival has a long and rich history. It is in the third year for the discriminating art lover of Chicago's North shore. A great layout, high visibility location and day before set up make this show a pleasure to be at. This festival has a long and rich history in the North Shore. Located in Skokie, the North Shore Festival of Art is a free, two-day, fine art festival showcasing approximately 150 juried artists from all across the United States and Canada. The artists display stunning works in a large variety of mediums, including painting, photography, jewelry, fiber, glass, wood and more!

53rd year in Chicago Gold Coast Art Fair At Grant Park Aug 20-22 2010

The 2010 Gold Coast Art Fair has a new location in Chicago’s famous Grant Park

and will be held on August 20, 21 & 22! The Gold Coast Art Fair will have a new location in Chicago’s famous Grant Park at the corner of Monroe Street and Lake Shore Drive, across the street from the Art Institute Museum of Chicago and the Fields Museum, as well as the John G Shedd Aquarium. The new location is referred to as Butler Field. Butler Field is an entire city square block with paved walks, trees and real bathrooms. Butler Field is the permanent location of Chicago’s famous Petrillo Band Shell - home to the Chicago Jazz Festival and other notable summer events. Parking is plentiful at the Monroe Street garage across the street.

EXCITING NEWS! The Gold Coast Art Fair will have a new location in Chicago’s famous Grant Park at the corner of Monroe Street and Lake Shore Drive, across the street from the Art Institute of Chicago. Heralded as the “Grand Daddy” of American art festivals, the Gold Coast Art Fair embarks this summer on its 53rd year of wowing Chicago. As one of the most highly attended art fairs in the city, The Gold Coast Art Fair annually attracts approximately 450 juried artists and 350,000 visitors from locations around the world.

Visitors enjoy a variety of fare ranging from fresh-squeezed lemonade, fresh fruit smoothies, ice cream, kettle korn, Greek food, and more.

Free hands-on art projects for children. Additionally, kids can go on a scavenger hunt through the festival looking for different types of art listed on a bingo card and then receive an “Official Art Explorer” sticker.

A variety of musical acts perform live throughout the festival weekend. From acoustic rock duo Cirrus Falcon to harpist Ariane Lydon there’s melody in the air.

Chicagoans and tourists patronize and love this show. The show opens Friday. The Eastside Millennium Art Festival, is reborn this year as the area bursts with activity. This downtown Chicago show sits just north of the internationally acclaimed Art Institute of Chicago and the world famous Millennium Park, well known for "The Bean" or the Cloud Gate, and interactive water sculptures.

Visitors may enjoy a variety of fare ranging from fresh-squeezed lemonade, fresh fruit smoothies, Mediterranean food, and more. Local restaurants operate continuously throughout the weekend.

From the South or East, Take the Chicago SkyWay which leads into Interstate 94 WEST. Continue on 94 to the Congress Street Exit. This is a main exit from the highway, clearly marked. Go EAST on Congress (a big wide multi-lane street which only goes east) to Michigan Avenue. Go left on Michigan a few blocks to Lake Street.

From the NORTH and SOUTH from Interstate 94: Head to Chicago. Once in the Chicago area, exits will be just minutes apart. Watch the signs and exit at Congress. This is a main exit from the highway, clearly marked. Go EAST on Congress (a big wide multi-lane street which only goes east) to Michigan Avenue. Go left on Michigan a few blocks to Lake Street.

From the WEST: I-290 East to 94. Go direction Milwaukee (north on a map) but marked West on signs. Once in the Chicago area, exits will be just minutes apart. Watch the signs and go EAST on Congress (a big wide multi-lane street which only goes east) to Michigan Avenue. Go left on Michigan a few blocks to Lake Street.

Parking is available at several underground garages (not free).

Bicycle parking is available at the McDonald's Cycle Center, located at Randolph Street and Columbus Drive.

The CTA trains stop just a block or two west of the festival. If you ride the Brown, Green, Orange or Purple line use the Randolph & Washington or State & Lake exits. If you ride the Red line use the State & Randolph exit.
