This Super Cute Mother & Baby Panda Bear Sitting in Bamboo Forest Painting, and absolutely unique deeply symbolic painting is by the Artist M. Zimmerman (Who is represented by the gallery Exclusive Canvas Art in Chicago). Although the painter has created what looks to be a simplistic and whimsical creation for kids it is, in fact, a deep introspective piece riding on ancient wisdom and anecdote. This painting technique that he used is loose, impressionistic/impressionism and lends the painting a wonderful feeling that should fit perfectly into any children's/kids room, animal decor, nurturing environment, world wildlife foundation or resonant with a love for the green environmental or conservation cause. The mother panda bear looks lovingly at her child in a protective wrap while the baby panda bear looks out at the viewer in an inquisitive manner all while seated in a comfortable, alcove within the bamboo forest. They are seated upon the soft remnants of their food-the fibrous outer fibers from their meal of bamboo shoots. The background also has special significance to the artist and a wonderful composition. The bamboo trees in either side of the landscape are leaning both to the left and to the right in the artwork while the central ones project upward in a strong straight manner which represents the political systems of the world each within their own forest corner. Yet, as we all know each ecosystem is interconnected and so too these mammal species are just as vulnerable within their own environment as we are within our own personal boundaries. M. Zimmerman has created the composition to be in reverse to other animal still life fine-art works, in that, his background is in focus while the animals are blurry and out of focus. He is telling each of us that it is time to better understand our place within this fragile world. We are blurry, fragmented, dependent on each other for growth, but to take on the characteristics of the bamboo is paramount to surviving within life. Grow fast, strong, straight lest ye be overtaken, trampled, and eaten. Furthermore, the protective instincts of the mother panda bear and the child's ever inquisitive mind are a source of deep rooted wisdom for all to abide by. The canvas has been coated with a textured titanium white which lends a grittiness to the final coatings of acrylic paint and adds symbolic aspects to the symbolism present for the complexities of life. The green (emerald green, Pthalo green (Pigment 15), cadmium yellow, titanium and zinc white, and bone black) represents a dichotomy and morphing stage of both environmental protection and money. The money of course represents the green within each of the three represented political, legal, and legislative systems in the bamboo home. The bears are monochromatic, yet retain a complex web of gray values in the fur's midtones, shadows, and highlights. Of course, this directly represents the multitude of races which compose the human people. This painting is an excellent financial investment from M. Zimmerman which is sure to grow with your child (or appeal to any adults inner child) over many years and numerous phases of development. Of course, those cute eyes just implore one to delve deep into their personal beliefs in the safety and comfort of their own bamboo forest.
The painting is signed on the front by the artist using the same acrylic paints there were used to create the artwork and also on the back of the painting. The raw cotton canvas was hand stretched by the artist onto pine stretcher bars, and then coated with a protective coating of gesso before being painted onto with a textured acrylic undercoating, paints, glazes, and varnished with a matte finish. This painting is small at 8 inches x 6 inches across with the painting done in acrylic paints that are artists professional grade and archival safe, UV safe, while coated with fixative additional UV protection, and varnish. It is also a great starter piece for collectors who likes signed and original works that are enriched with symbolism and contemporary touches. The artwork has been created on the best pH balanced hand gessoed cotton canvas. All components have pH neutral properties to ensure archival retention and longevity to the artwork. The artwork has been done with a looseness, efficiency, and painterly strokes and utilizes the thick texture of the canvas coating to assist in creating a tension between the shadows and background movement of the forest and bears which denote refinement and fineness.
The artwork is signed on the front by the artist using the same acrylic paints that were used to create this amazing painting and on the back in India Ink with an archival safe pigmented PITT pen. You can coordinate this painting to match to any room's colors since the monochromatic greens and grays can be accentuated by the rooms decor and can be either become complementary or match the room which assist in either working with a loud room or livening up a dull room by heightening the background colors which will always make this fine art painting the highlight of focus and conversation.
